HURRICANE MELISSA RELIEF

    Hurricane Melissa, a powerful Category 5 storm, has passed, leaving widespread devastation across Jamaica.

    Thousands of people have been affected, with families displaced, homes destroyed, and livelihoods shattered. Now begins the hard road to recovery. Together, let’s stand ready to help families rebuild their homes, restore their lives, and bring hope back to our nation.

    Please note the following from the Jamaican High Commission:

    The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) has launched the Support Jamaica website: https://supportjamaica.gov.jm, a dedicated online platform developed by the Government of Jamaica to mobilize assistance, coordinate relief, and streamline recovery efforts post-Hurricane Melissa.

    This centralized platform offers a suite of essential services, including:

    A straightforward “Donate Now” option so that citizens, Diaspora partners, the private sector and other organizations can contribute to rebuilding lives and restoring hope;

    An interactive shelter-locator for those in need

    A transparent, efficient and effective platform to track and receive resources.

    For all those interested in donating, we encourage you to use only the site that ends in gov.jm and avoid any scams. The site has been developed and donated by the Amber Group in consultation with our GoJ team, and has been thoroughly security-tested to ensure your protection.

    The High Commission reiterates its gratitude for the support and solidarity with the Government and people of Jamaica during this time.
